blood.on.the.lupines Once again, a clandestine, illicit interface of dark and light. The kaleidoscope of vibrations oozing off of this benevolent, yet terrifying machine-elf of an album keeps me humble. It's not ego death, but it's not not ego death. It's some forgotten deity, impassively perceiving me, peripherally, but absolutely commanding my fixated dread. Gorgeous. Dedicated to Naeku the'e Plowmanne & Master Pearl, or The Gawain Poet.

Tunes, aura, and visuals inspired by the Wiz'rd ov Bharari: Naeku the'e Plowmanne, and master Gawain Poet's seething 14th c. pastoral dream-vision "Pearl".

The album seeks to view the contemporary Bharari lore under the 14th-century Middle-Inglis lens of theological allegory, dream-vision, and pastoral lyricism, all the while presenting a cohesive sonic journey tying these elements of a distant English past and a tangible Western Himalayan present together.
It's a triumphant coming together of two seemingly unrelated worlds - united somehow by the uncanny pastoral and spiritual similarities they share, as assimilated by the lived and imagined experiences of Baba Mithrandir, and as portrayed through the alighted eyes of our drunken protagonist: Naeku the'e Plowmanne.

Through these eight intensely emotional and introspective tracks, Baba Mith. seeks to take his Felloe Pilgrimmes on a journey into the innards of his native Forests of Bharari. The tunes and visuals are charged with cryptic esoteric prowess, eery autumnal countryside nostalgia, and visions of a time long forgotten.

PEARL

On the grave of his little one, covered over with flowers, the father pours out his love and grief till, in the summer stillness, he falls asleep, while we hear in the sunshine the drowsy hum of insects and the faraway sound of the reapers' sickles. He dreams there, and the dream grows into a beautiful vision. His body lies still upon the grave while his spirit goes to a land, exquisite beyond all words, where he suddenly comes upon a stream he cannot cross. As he wanders along the bank, seeking in vain for a ford, a marvel rises before his eyes, a crystal cliff, and seated beneath it a little maiden who raises a happy, shining face of his little Margaret.

More then me lyste my drede waited,
I stod full stylle and dorste not called;
Wyth yghen open and mouth ful clos,
I stod as hende as hawk in halle.

He dares not speak for fear of breaking the spell; but sweet as a lily she comes down the crystal stream's bank to meet and speak with him, and tell him of the happy life of heaven and how to live to be worthy of it. In his joy he listens, forgetting all his grief; then the man's heart cries out for its own, and he struggles to cross the stream to join her. In the struggle the dream vanishes; he wakens to find his eyes wet and his head on the little mound that marks the spot where his heart is buried.
